Potter’s House Student Turns Life Around

Calling 17-year-old Potter House High School student Gabe Mateo a good soccer player is an understatement.

He’s made forty one goals so far this season, six in the opening game alone.

He recently made an Academy traveling soccer team in Detroit and is already being scouted for division one college teams.

Things weren’t always this great for the teenager.

Former Potter’s House student preparing to open Christian school in Honduras by 2011

Former Potter’s House student, Emily Romero, left, moved to Honduras this month with her husband, David, and 7-month-old son, Anthony. They plan to open a faith-based school for underprivileged children by February 2011.


Emily Romero envisions a Honduran school where children can receive a Christian education, regardless of their family’s income.
